Q. Does using a Refilled, Remanufactured or Compatible cartridge affect my printer warranty?

A. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Using refilled, remanufactured or compatible cartridges does not affect your printer warranty. It is illegal for any printer manufacturer to threaten to void your warranty simply because you don’t use their original brand expensive cartridges. All cartridges supplied by Cartridge Plus are guaranteed to match the performance of original cartridges under similar conditions. However, if a problem with the printer should occur, and it is established that our cartridges caused the problem then we will repair or replace the printer free of charge. Q. What are the downsides of using a Refilled cartridge?

A. When it comes to refilling Print Head cartridges the only downside is that the Ink Counter will not register after refilling, there is nothing that can be done to change this, this is something the manufacturers do to prevent you from refilling and saving money.it just means that the ink counter reading will be incorrect, that is the only difference, you will still get the same amount of Ink and the same print quality, when your print begins to fade on the page is when you know your cartridge is almost empty. Most people are fine with this as the cost saving outweighs the inconvenience of the ink counter not reading correctly.  This only applies to print head cartridges, Ink tank cartridges  are either reset or the micro chip replaced so the Ink counter works perfect.

Q. How long does a Refilled cartridge last?

A. This is a question we hear on a daily basis, Firstly it depends on what you are printing, printing large blocks of colour such as graphs, pie charts etc or photographs will use more Ink more quickly, all our refilled cartridges will print the equivalent and sometimes more than an Original branded cartridge. A manufacturer bases their page yields on 5% coverage of a page, so for example an A4 page of standard text would be classed as one page, so you can see then how much ink printing a photo would use. Q. How many times can a cartridge be refilled?

A. Ink tank cartridges can be refilled countless times, print head cartridges however are a little different as they contain electrical circuts that due to wear and tear over time can fail and so need to be replaced.

Any faults found when either testing or refilling print head cartridges are communicated to the customer and the cartridge replaced if necessary.

Q. Can all cartridges be refilled and how long does it take?

A. We can refill 95% of all printer cartridges, for the ones we cant we stock a generic version, and for less common cartridges we can generally source them within a couple of days. Every printer manufacturer releases a new batch of printer models at least once a year, for some models it may take a few months after that for our suppliers to test and approve the new supplies so if you contact us and your printer cannot be refilled, please check back in with us at a later date when the supplies are approved and we can then refill your cartridge and save you money. Depending on the type of cartridge you have, it can take from a few minutes up to 30 minutes.

Q. I had a cartridge refilled before by a different company and it never worked, how do I know your refilled cartridge will work?

A. There are many back street re-flllers out there simply syrnge filling cartridges with cheap inferior quality ink and not testing them, if a customer then has an issue they will blame the printer. At Cartridge Plus all our cartridges undergo a vigourous testing procedure including a complete electrical and nozzle check, if they fail this test they are not refilled. All our cartridges are refilled using the latest refill technology on the market with the highest quality approved Inks  and are then subject to a full print quality test before packaging and returned to the customer. A cartridge will only leave Cartridge Plus once it is working 100%. If however after time the cartridge fails for whatever reason we will still stand over it, simply return it to our store and we can examine the cartridge and replace it if needs be.

Q. Do you refill less common brands such as DELL, ADVENT and KODAK?

A.  Yes we refill DELL, ADVENT and Kodak, we refill 95% of all printer cartridges, for the ones we cannot refill we stock a generic version.

Q. Do you perform any testing after you refill a cartridge?

A. Yes a full electrical, nozzle and quality check are performed on all cartridges after filling, all cartridges are also logged on our system against the customers name to keep track of how many times a cartridge has been refilled.

Q. I only use my printer occasionally and when I do the print out appears streaky with colours missing or faded, what can I do?

A. Infrequent use is not good for a printer, over time the lines can dry up resulting in the issues mentioned, this will happen with Original Brand Inks too, storing your printer in a particularly hot room or beside a radiator can add to these issues.
